Dean and I spent a couple of hours with Danny this afternoon fine tuning our knowledge and ability in using EMACS as a management tool and i feel it is time that i gave you a report on how we see the system so far.
There are several points i would like to make, all of them favourable!
Both roll outs went very smoothly and little or no disruption to our business was experienced.
Your staff have always been helpful, patient and courteous and most importantly, very knowledgeable.
The system is already giving us tangible benefits, particularly to Dean and myself at a higher level. We can honestly say that we feel far more in control of the business now.
Maryland, which has only been running for a month, has taken to it like a duck to water. Lisburn are struggling a little, this is not the fault of EMACS, rather it is showing the inadequacies of some of our management staff.
Before we had EMACS we were fairly certain that we were somewhat overstaffed with productives in both workshops. EMACS confirmed very quickly what we had surmised. 2 have now gone in Maryland and 1 in Lisburn with a 2nd to follow.
Technician efficiency has increased by approx 20% points in Maryland. Lisburn were higher than Maryland, but we still have lots of work to do there as Lisburn are now a long way behind. Technicians like the new system and genuinely understand their bonus much better than ever before.
I could list many other positives, such as reporting which is generally excellent, but the general overview is that Dean and I are very pleased with the package, your company are a pleasure to work with and I hope your staff have enjoyed their time with us. We made the right decision to go with EMACS and i look forward to the inevitable pay back which certainly seems to have started already. I hope i am not being premature in praising EMACS, but certainly so far so good!
Alan, many thanks to you and your staff for all the help and encouragement so far. We still have a lot to learn but we will get there before long.
